Introduction  #

Zoom is a communications software that allows you to hold video conferences, online meetings, and collaborate remotely with other users. In contrast to other competing communications software, Zoom offers users unique features, including the ability to share your screen with other meeting members and to give control of your mouse/cursor to a remote viewer.

Creating an account with Gmail  #

Creating an account for Zoom is necessary as you will be required to login before using the software. The following steps in this section will detail the steps used to sign up using a Gmail address. If you do not use Gmail, skip to the next section — Creating an account with other email types — to sign up using another email account.

Step 1  #

If you have created a Hawaii Aquatics Person, start from a Chrome browser window with this Person. If you were not instructed to create a Hawaii Aquatics Person, you can proceed to Step 2.

Step 2  #

Step 3  #

You will be directed to the Zoom homepage. Click the blue SIGN UP, IT’S FREE button located in the upper-right corner.

Step 4  #

You will be redirected to Zoom’s signup page. You can sign up for an account by using either “your work email address”, Google account, or Facebook account. If you have a Google account/email, click the blue Google link on the line that reads: Or, sign up with Google or Facebook.

If you do not have a Google account/email, insert your regular email address and press the blue Sign Up button, then skip to Step 7.

Step 5  #

Your Hawaii Aquatics gmail address and name should be auto-filled if your Hawaii Aquatics Person profile was set up correctly (and is currently active in your browser).

Step 6  #

If you have multiple Google accounts associated with your active Person, then it is possible that you may be given multiple google accounts to choose from. Select the appropriate email address associated with your Hawaii Aquatics account. After selecting the email, you will then be redirected to the same page listed above in step 5.

Step 7  #

Select the blue Create Account button (after completing this step, you should be redirected to your account homepage).

Creating an account with other email types  #

Creating an account for Zoom is necessary as you will be required to login before using the software.

Step 1  #

Step 2  #

You will be directed to the Zoom homepage. Click the blue SIGN UP, IT’S FREE button located in the upper-right corner.

Step 3  #

You will be redirected to Zoom’s signup page. You can sign up for an account by using either “your work email address”, Google account, or Facebook account. Insert your email address into the text box and press the blue Sign Up button.

Step 4  #

You will be redirected to a page notifying you that an email with a confirmation link was sent to your address.

Step 5  #

Go to your personal email account and find the email that contains the confirmation link. Click the blue Activate Account button.

Step 6  #

You will be redirected back to the Zoom website. Enter in your password of choice, then press the orange Continue button.

Step 7  #

Press the white Skip this step button.

Step 8  #

You are now finished signing up; you can exit this window without pressing any of the buttons or links.
